In the beginning of February, I went for a walk and saw this beautiful tree, starting to bloom and I thought...early spring?

And then...we went to church, and it start to snow.  It started snowing with the largest snowflakes I have ever seen in my life.

Two hours later, when we got out of church...we were treated to this view.

It was so beautiful.

The next day was a snow day!  YAY!

I hurried up and bundled the kids up so they could experience a Georgia snow.  (You have to move fast around here.  One day here...and the next day it melts away.)

They went out back, and with the help of Rob and the twins, the little boys got a pretty awesome snowman going.

As soon as we could, Rob and I bundled up the kids and went to Sims Lake.  The mist was just starting to rise off the water and it was beautiful.

Unfortunately, as the day got longer, the air got warmer.  We had to really hurry up and have as much fun as we possibly could.

So we went sledding

(look how fast it started to get muddy!)

Look at these fun-filled faces.

Next, there was an epic Jones style snowball fight.

Poor Rob.

We added a few more runs with the sled.

Then, we found a nice open field for a massive snowman.

This one was a group effort.

Later, Austin doorbell ditched this cute little snowman on our front door.  He thought it was so funny, that he packed it up onto a little wagon and he doorbell ditched the same little guy on his friend, Josh's front door.

By evening, our snow melted off the roads, and the driveways, and most of the grass.

And that is winter in Georgia.

Right after Christmas we got a short but fun trip from Gina.   It was a bit of a whirlwind, but we loved having her here with us.

When Alaina and the boys had their Dance Across the Decades, we found a couple of fun dresses at Goodwill.  This was her second choice.  I think the girl could have been straight out of the 70s.

Flower Power

And this cute boy, Emmett.  He had his 100th day of school.  Alaina might fit in the 70's but this guy is a dead ringer for the cast of newsies.

Here is little Caprice.  Emmett is pretty much in love with this sweet girl.  She and her family moved just down the street just after Christmas.  They came from Henderson, where her father taught Orchestra at a high school.  The funny thing is, Jeremy Woolstenhulme (her dad) had taught a summer cello program that Ethan had participated in the summer before we moved.  Small world.

While we waited for the bus one day, Emmett started fretting about who would change their last name, him or Caprice.  I told him there would probably be enough time to work that one out.

Emmett's shoe came untied and he figured out a good knot to keep his shoe on.

We also got a playdate with Teddy and Patrick Ashley.  I sure love these boys!

Alaina.

Every morning little Emmett walks right past me, and climbs into bed with his Daddy.  These two are  inseparable.
