And guess who else came to town at the same time? Grandma and Grandpa Scribner! They came into town Sat evening, just in time to eat Ethan's birthday cake.
How lucky was Ethan to have both grandparents here for his birthday? We were so excited that we took a little photo shoot just for the occasion.

The boys with their grandpas.

Alaina with both grandmas.

Just us...

And finally...the whole gang.

After church we went home for a family luncheon including Conrad and Lisa James (who Alaina refers to as our 'unknown cousins.' since we didn't know them very well the first time we went to their house.)

And if that wasn't enough fun for a week and a half...we ALSO got a wonderful visit from Jen and her friend Erik. They came over for an early lunch that Mom Scribner prepared (yum) and we were able to visit for a few hours after we ate.

Jen also got me to go into Portland for lunch yesterday, so she could introduce me to my own city. She was shocked to hear that the only places I've visited in Portland had to do with children. The Children's Museum, The Zoo, The OMSI - science museum. So, I took advantage of the kids being a school and took a gander at a couple of interesting and unique stores of Portland. It was very fun.

Sadly, the time came where everyone had to go home. Jen went on to Seattle, Mom and Dad Jones went back to Cali. and Mom and Dad Scribner hopped back on a plane to Utah.

A few hours after we dropped off Mom & Dad Scribner, Ethan's Birthday party started. That, however, is information for another post.

Thanks to all of you who made such an effort to come and help celebrate Ethan's big day. We enjoyed all of the special time we spent with each of you. (Same place, same time...next year?) We feel so fortunate to have such wonderful family and friends.
