The rest of April passed in a blur of Digital Learning.  Our days looked like a version of this picture every single day.

Digital Learning was an absolute misery.  The little boys education,  especially, suffered.  We spent hour after hour trying to log onto little videos or complete busy work.  Most of that time was spent trying to help the boys type, even though what they really needed to learn and practice was how to write.

And let's not forget the zoom calls.  Remembering when each kid's zoom calls were, finding the computers, and making sure they got on, stayed on and actually paid attention was the absolute worst.  For the first half of the calls, Emmett refused to let anyone see him.  Fortunately, at that time, the little boys were only expected to attended one or two zoom meetings a day.

Still.  We all hated it.

Alaina probably missed out on the most.  She was just finding her stride in pole-vaulting.  She was on the rifle club.  She was in the Spanish club and went to Nerd-club.  The fact was, she was too busy.  Every night she was up until one in the morning and then up again for seminary.  She was burning herself out, but I didn't know how to slow her down.  I would have like her to lessen her load, but I felt really bad for her that everything was just taken away from her.

We started taking lots of walks, but for the first few months, nobody saw anybody.  No friends, no park days, no church.  Nothin'.

A few days during our walks, we called our friends the Nelsons, and this was our first social distancing visit we got in what felt like forever.

The girls are social distancing (remember when that was never even a phrase anyone ever said?) fist bumping.

Lots and lots of family time is great...and sometimes a little too much.  This was one of those 'great' moments.

There was some BIG Emmett news, however.  April brought Emmett's first lost tooth.  What a big kid!
