We kicked off this summer with a bang the very first weekend after school got out. We started our trek to the Jones reunion Sunday morning and after a plane ride to San Fran and a car ride down to central Cali, we made it to Paso Robles. We were the last to arrive and so as soon as it was possible, we gathered all the kids together to sing a Happy Father's Day song to Grandpa. They sure looked cute all lined up.
Once the kids were allowed into the pool in the back of the house, they pretty much never came out again.
Mom with Makenna, Wyatt and Alaina.
Alaina, Kyla, Makenna and Austin.
I even got in with Jason once...
For the most part, the adults just enjoyed sitting on the side, watching the kids play in the water.
Well, uh. Unless they were playing double-dutch, that is.
The few times we coaxed the kids out of the water, they enjoyed playing lawn games in the grass. Here is Makenna and Kyla with Alaina.
Grandma Speakman and Lindann came down for a couple of days. I can't believe that it has been over 12 years since we've seen them. That is definitely too long to go. Here is a nice picture of them with Mom.
Arianne and Tonnette.
Wyatt, Levi, Ryan and Cole.
Anna with Grandma.
Lindi with Ella (Ron's)
It wouldn't be a Jones reunion if Robert didn't catch something for the kids to look at. Here they are all surrounding him and the huge garden snake he found.
He doesn't look that friendly to me...
At the end of each night we were all exhausted. This picture reminded me of the twinnies when they were little. They still can't manage to sleep properly in a bed. However they manage to fall asleep, twisting and turning the way they do, I'll never know.

Father's Day 2012
This Father's Day was a little more rushed than we would have liked it to be. We had some friends over for the weekend AND we were leaving that morning for California. Regardless, we all wanted to show Robert just how much we love and appreciate him. So we made him a nice big breakfast and the kids did their annual dress up in Rob's clothes to give him his presents. (Thanks to Stephanie's hand-made tie onesie that she made for Jason, even baby was able to join in the fun!)
My kids adore their Dad so much. They miss him when he is gone on trips and they are always anxious to know when he is coming home at night. And Robert loves to do things with the kids whenever he gets the chance. He loves to take them to the park or to the movies or out to get ice-cream. And if he isn't taking them somewhere, they are content to take turns with him while he mows the yard or ride their bikes next to him when he takes a walk down the street. Whatever the activity, they just want to be near their Dad. He is a wonderful father and we all love him. Happy Father's Day!
