Here are some random pictures we've taken this month.

This one was silly - yet, somehow very cute.

Here are a couple of my babies sleep. Check out Alaina's foot - it is balanced on her duck. She even poses in her sleep.

Here was our one and only attempt to straighten Lainy's hair. It is definitely better with her baby curls. I guess I'll just never cut her hair. Ever.
We went to a fun play area for Amisha's (our neighbor and the girl Ethan is totally in love with) Birthday Party. I think Robert had as much fun as the kids.

We spent Thanksgiving with the Scribner cousin's at Uncle Steve & Aunt Mary's house...except we only saw Steve and Mary on Skype. They were just back from a French lesson in their home in Switzerland. While they are hanging out there for the next couple of months/years on a work assignment, Emily and Damion and their kids are hosting large parties. We got there around noon and the party was already going strong. Lara & Chuck & two youngest, Chad & Danielle and kids & Ben (his lady and kiddies were home sick) were already there. The kids are all around the same ages and so we just let them run wild together. I'm afraid the toy room had seen better days after our kids got to it, but everyone sure seemed to be having a good time. Dinner was fantastic (thanks to Emily, Danielle & Lara) and it was, in Austin's exact words, "that was very, very, very, very, very, much, much, much, much, much FUN!" Here are a few pics.

We were tired of living in a house

Today the kids and I had a very lovely morning. It was about 70 degrees outside with a very slight breeze. The trees are a fantastic array of reds, yellows, oranges and greens. Everywhere we walked random leaves floated down around us. In fact, the day seemed so perfect that I couldn't seem to get Liesel Skorpen's sweet story, "We were tired of living in a house" out of my head. So, I decided to jot down a little account of our morning in the same style as her story.

We were tired of living in a house. So we packed our bags with sweatshirts and keys and we went to a walking path through the forest. We liked our forest.

We spun and skipped through golden sunbeams. We laughed as we tried to catch falling leaves of gold floating down the warm fall breeze. We found treasures of acorns and pine cones and interesting rocks. We liked our forest...until the path got too steep.

So we packed our bags with sweatshirts and keys and leaves of gold and acorns and pine cones an interesting rocks and we moved to...the meadow. We liked our meadow.

We held races across the base-ball diamond, starting with a 'ready, set, go.' We tumbled and rolled through piles of leaves in the grass. We found a bright green lizard who chased up our arms and rested on our shoulders. We liked our meadow...until we heard the kids at the park.

So we packed our bags with sweatshirts and keys and acorns and gold and pine cones and a lizard who was a particular friend. And we moved to....the park. We liked our park.

We swung our feet up to the blue sky. We shimmied down slides shining with dew. We climbed on ladders twisting in precarious shapes. We giggled with some fellow adventurous toddlers. We liked our park...until our friends went home.

So we packed our bags with sweatshirts and keys and treasures of gold and brown. We said a sad goodbye to a lizard who was a particular friend and we went back home to live in a house.
