Here are some random May pictures of the kids.

Austin loves to make treats.   I really ought to let him do more of it, but mostly he asks right when I'm in the middle of something else.  It's all in the timing, buddy.  Anyway, sometimes he does get it right and I let him go for it.   One day he made a shake (and demanded a picture.  :)

He also made cookies one day and was highly amused at the bottom of one of them.  It is a rather cheerful little cookie.  (and tasty, I might add.)

My little boys are such a sweet joy for me.   I loved their quirky little personalities and the sweet curiosity they possess.  Looking at the world through the eyes of little boys is always just that much more exciting.  Things like stacking cups is a small adventure.

And let's face it, the hose is a marvel all to itself.  Doesn't this picture just say, "trouble" to you?

I love this sweet face!

Another curly headed little boy?  Yes, please!

Sleeping beauty.

This is a picture of Jason putting Emmett to sleep.  It didn't last long, but it sure was a sweet attempt.

Here is a little conversation I had with Jason the other day.

jason - I want food!

mama- are you hungry?

jason - no, I jason.

mama - Is your belly empty?

Jason - oh!  Yes!  My bellybutton is hungry!  (then will a curious look, he lifts up my shirt.)  NO!  Mama bellybutton is full!  (then as a after thought, he presses down on my tummy.)  Oooh... I squish mama belly.  Squish, squish!  (then he walks his hand up my chest to my chin and makes his hand look like it is a talking puppet. )  I squish mama belly!

Nice.

Here is a picture of the twins during intermission from the play Annie.  They talked me into getting one drink.  I thought they were just going to share it, each drinking a little from it at a time.  Instead, when I looked over, they were drinking it like this:

Twinnies.  They live their lives a little more connected then the rest of us.

Here is a poem that Alaina wrote that I really like.

Alaina Jade   May 2015

The Weather's Out to Get Me!

The sleet was pounding heavily,

Stinging my face as I walked to school.

Determined to stop me in my path.

Never relenting.  Never stopping.

Making my path as slippery as ice.

Turning my nose and ears the color of beets.

Turning my fingers blue.

Taking away all warmth that I hid.

Hiding my destination from me.

And refusing to stop, to relent, to surrender.

When I finally get there, I smell of frozen muck.

Only to hear the patter-splat,
patter-splat,
patter-splat,
of the sleet hitting the rooftop, battering it and trying to make me suffer.

I look in my bag and realize that I need to go back and get my homework!

It's out for me, I tell you!

One lovely May evening we decided to take our kiddies to Sunset Park for a little picnic.  It always takes a little longer to pack up a picnic than you'd think, but we finally schlepped our food & picnic gear to a nice grassy area by the lake (lakes are not the norm in Vegas parks, so we were happy to find this one.)  and settled down to eat.

After dinner, we went for a nice walk around the little lake.  This little love was overdue for bedtime even before we finished dinner, so the was a trooper when we added a walk on top of it.

Our silly crew.  Jason is still learning the fine art of the posed picture.  Good thing he's so cute.

This picture makes me laugh because just moment before I took it, the boys were bickering back and forth about something.  They weren't even close to liking each other, however, the moment I told them to pose for a picture, this is what I got.  A best buddy pose.  Ha!  Who said you can't change history?

These two, on the other hand, really are best buddies...all the time.  Two peas in a pod, they loved looking at the ducks and feeding them bread.

In fact, none of my kids can resist feeding those ducks.

This kind of night calls for cartwheels across the green.  Who are we to disappoint?
