Two nights before Christmas and Mom & Dad's house was completely packed with people.  That next morning everyone headed back home.  Even Mom and Dad left.  They were off to spend Christmas in Florida with Lora.  Before we knew it, we had the whole house to ourselves.  Even the snow took off.  After our big snow day, the snow had started melting away.  Here is Alaina, hoping for some Christmas Magic with a white Christmas!

We had a lovely, if pretty simple, Christmas dinner.  (Don't you love Mom's cute Christmas plates?)

Next came the Christmas Story.  We found a crocheted nativity (made by Aunt Lois.) and we let the kids use them to act out the story of Jesus.  I originally thought that it would be a big hit for the little boys.  I didn't realize that the big kids were going to enjoy using them even more.

The crew.

Finally, before we headed off to bed, the kids opened their one present.  The little boys got slippers...

Silly kid.

And the big kids got PJs.  I'm thinking they were all pleased.

And off we went, to fill our heads with dreams of sugar plums and wait for Santa to come and fill our stockings.

Merry Christmas!

The Night before the Night before Christmas, we had the Scribner Christmas Party at Mom's house.  First we had an awesome dinner.   It was delicious!  We had some talent and music.  Mom had a great game where we had to guess which family legend went with which person.  I'm not saying that I'm the best, or anything, but I totally won.  :)  It was great getting those crazies together.  We missed Gina and her family and Lora and her family!  If we had everyone there, I'm thinking the seams of that big house might just have burst.

Finally we had the white elephant gifts.  Spencer and Myles ended up with these beauties.  They not only wore them...they made them jingle.  hee hee

And last, but not least.  Santa came.  All the kids had a good time telling him what they wanted for Christmas.  Santa somehow knew what cool thing each of the kids had been doing lately.  That Santa really does his homework!

Here was a true believer.

We couldn't get Jason off Santa's lap.  He just had so much to say!

Robert couldn't help but get in on the action.  Santa doesn't look too pleased.

Even Grandma got a turn!

As soon as school got out, we drove up to Utah for our Christmas break.  Everyone was very pleased to see a bunch of snow on the ground.  They were also happy to know that Spencer and his family were there for a couple of days.  That next morning everyone got decked out in their snow gear and headed out.

The little boys were playing so well together.  I have to note (although I must have said this a million times already) how Emmett copies everything Jason says and does.  We call him Jason's little white shadow."  So when Jason wanted to show off a big chunk of snow...brother made sure he had some to show off as well.

I just love it when you ask little kids to show you something and they automatically put it straight in front of their faces.

And....take two.

Ethan and Lisa.  Ethan loves being taller than most of his Aunts.  (And Mom, of course.)

Ready for the slopes.

Austin, looking rather dapper.

"When was the last time you said, 'Whahoo?'"  (anyone get that quote?)

Moco came out and played with us.

Sweetie.

And when it got too cold, we headed in for hot chocolate and soup.

I went in for good, but later I found these crazies having a snowball fight in the front yard.  I don't know if you can see it, but instead of snowballs, they were using snow-shovels.  That is a serious snow fight.
