Guess what time it is?  Nope.  Not even close.  It is, however, time to update you on all the fun and silly things that my little loves manage to say.  I know this is the post that has you waiting at the edge of your seat for months.  Well, wait no longer.  Here it is.

Jason.

This kid found a pink domino, complete with shiny gem stones for the numbers, and said, 'Hey!  It's a Jesus Phone.  I can talk to Jesus."  I've always wondered what that conversation would go like, so I asked what was on Jesus' mind.  Jason asked and then said, "Jesus said we need blood and a body so that is why we came to earth."  Wow.  Jesus went deep.  Fast.  My intrigue was peaked.  What else, I asked.  Jason forwarded my question, nodded a few times, and gave a couple of believable 'uh-huh's.  Then he clued me in, "He says the Jones family is really special."  I prompt him forward with a smile.  "They are really super special!"  Yes, I say.  That sounds about right.  And then, with a sly smile, Jason picks up the Jesus phone for one last convo.  He nods, agrees and then put the phone down.  Then quite nonchalantly he says,  "Oh, and He said that we can watch a show whenever we want."  He must of sensed my doubt because he doubled-down.  "That's what Jesus said!"

We had a big problem.  We broke a spoon.  "Well, not much we can do about this." I mumbled.  Emmett wasn't even phased, "Daddy can fix it."  I didn't believe it.  I said, "I don't think daddy can fix everything, you know."  Emmett wasn't going to have it.  "Yes he can!  Daddy can fix the ground!"  Before I could even process that one, Jason joined in. "Yes!  Because daddy's a winner!"  Emmett agreed.  "Yeah!  Daddy's a winner!!"  Jason then upped the ante.  "Daddy's a beautiful winner!" After hearing this chant for a good 5 minutes, Jason stopped and looked at me.  "Mom is there anything daddy can't fix?"  Not wanting to ruin the moment with too much reality, I side-stepped.  "Well, maybe there are some things that Daddy would need help with..."  Before I could continue, Jason yelled out, "Then I can help him!"  Emmett agreed.  "I can help him too!!"  After that came a whole bunch of detailed plans to help out dear old dad.   During which, I stared at my poor, broke spoon.  As a side note, when I told Robert about his Fan Club, he said, "Yeah.  I could fix that."  Sure.

Emmett showing off his muscles.  Isn't that the sweetest face you've ever seen?

At church there is an entrance to the baptismal font from the bathroom.  I had rushed Emmett into the bathroom and on the way out he stated,  "That door goes to the Holy Ghost."  He said it so matter-of-fact, that I almost wouldn't have been surprised if I had opened the door and there He was.  Just hanging out.

Austin has been a really good sport since we moved into this house.  Even though it has two rooms downstairs that could count as a bedroom (they both have big closets, even)  Neither one of them have a window or a secondary escape route.  This makes me too nervous to put a kid down there.  Because Ethan is (let's just say this like it is) too much of a dictator for anyone to really want to share space with him, all three boys are in one room.  Alaina has her own room, too, but her room is quite small.  The boys' room, however, is easily large enough to house all three kids.  The only main problem, is that we don't have any real shelving in yet.  This just really means that all of Austin's most valued possessions (his Legos) are in tons of random boxes on the ground...easily accessible to the little boys.  On the other hand...this is exactly what makes that room magical to the little boys.  Oh man, do they love Austin's Legos.  So, when I told Austin this next story, he wasn't pleased.  I still think its funny, however, so I'll share.  Jason was doing something really clever with his hands and I said, "Wow,  maybe you should be an engineer when you grow up."  Jason shook his head.  "No.  I want to be a wizard."  Although this is reasonable enough, Jason backed it up with an experience he had that morning.  "I had a lego and I made it Poof!"  He gestures, demonstrating the magical action.  And with a truly shocked face he said, "And it was gone.  I looked upstairs and downstairs and I can't find it!  I made it disappear!"  Yo.  This kid's for reals!  We never did find that Lego piece.

Emmett after a camping trip with Rob and the boys.

Emmett was playing with his Transformer toy one morning while we were vegging in bed.  He was making his toy sing a song that went a little like this, "goo gaga ga gaa goo gaa."  He then suddenly stopped and said, "Ugh!  That is so annoying!!!"  Apparently he didn't like the Transformer's song.  However, this didn't stop that transformer from singing it over and over again.  Each time it got to be too much, a very exasperated Emmett would groan and repeat his new favorite phrase.  "That is SO annoying!"

Robert came in from chopping down a tree and said, "I have wood chips in my hair."  Jason was nearby and jumped up, shouting "You have hair now!??"  hee hee.

One of my favorite pictures of Jason and me.  I'll help you decipher all the nice things he is saying to me.  I love you mom.  You are my favorite mom.  I miss Emmett.  Happy Birthday Mom.  LUV.  Unfortunately I can't remember what I was saying to him...and I can't figure it out at the moment.  I sure do love this loving child.

On the way to nearly everything we go to (the doctor, church, karate...) we pass this cemetery.  Each time we pass one of us say, "Oh Look.  People are just dying to get in!"  We mostly continue this because it really annoys Alaina.  Not much really gets to her, so we have to work with what we got.  This also bothered the little boys for a while, when they learned what a cemetery was (thank you Ethan for that uncalled for, very descriptive explanation that will never leave any of our heads.)  So we've been trying to let them know that it's just a play on words.  Jason was finally pacified when he realized that people didn't have to stay there if they didn't want too...since there are two gates to the cemetery.  The little boys now follow the phrase with the announcement, "It's a JOKE!"
This was working well, until one day Jason said this.  "One day, when I die you will dig a hole, put me in the ground, put a rock on me and put my name on it and say, 'people are just dying to get in there.'"  Sheez kid.  Way to make it all morbid.  We might just have to give that phrase a rest.  (especially since this morning when Jason was relating a story he accidentally replaced the word cafeteria with the word cemetery.  It was very confusing.)

This little picture was one I took while the boys were playing together.  This is what Jason was calling a 'moon hug.'  It is the latest and safest mode of travel if one cares to visit the moon.  Which, by the way, the little boys did.  He was in the middle of a count down when I snapped the picture.

When I went in to wake Jason up for school, Jason snapped open his eyes and said, "I just closed my eyes and opened them!  I'm a super fast sleeper!"

Jason opened up the door for me and announced, "Ladies first!"  Then he asked, "Some people call you a lady, right?"  If he wasn't so sincere I would've given him a knuckle sandwich.

Here is a picture that Jason's teacher sent me when we left Nevada.  Such a lover, that kid.

When Jason got off bus he, very excitedly reported, "There are two girls on the bus and they are so beautiful.  One of them is really, really beautiful.  She has a sparkly backpack with Finding Dory on the back and sparkles all around it.  She is so beautiful ... (long, love-sick sigh.)" and then, just to make him the most adorable child I've ever owned, he added, "Almost as beautiful as you are Mama."

Emmett was holding a broken transformer and asked for my help.  "You need to put it together."  Holding an extra piece he continued, "Apparently, that goes on the arm.  You just have to look at the menu."  I though Emmett was so clever coming up with that word.  Apparently.  Not the usual word out of a three year old.  I patted myself on the back for helping him to expand his vocabulary at such a young age.  Later that night, Ethan was fuming at me.  I had the audacity to tell him that he had to both unload the clean dishwasher AND put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher.   He said that he wanted to quit the family.  (Note:  the big kids' quotes just don't have the same cuteness-factor that the little boys quotes do.  I try not to remember most of them.  I definitely shy away from putting them into print!)  When I informed Ethan that there was, in fact, no quitting a family, but there was grounding available, should he chose not to finish his chore, Ethan shouted, "Apparently, I'll never be able to play with my friends again!  So.  I guess I haven't really been expanding Emmett's vocabulary at all.  Ethan has.
Thanks, I guess.

Instead of using the word BOOM or BANG, little Emmett chooses to say, "Ka-bloomy!"  It's too much.

Look what happened at church.  This little guy fell asleep on my chest.  I can't remember the last time that happened.  You better believe I didn't wake that baby up.  No sir.  I happily skipped class so that I could spend my time playing with his curls and tracing his face with my finger.  Some days I would do anything to slow down time.

Whenever cooking up dinner, my sweet Emmett loves to refer to himself as Mama's "little chef."

Saturday is the day I don't have to be in charge of getting 5 kids to 4 different schools.  (Emmett does Joy school twice a week.  So cute.)  I don't have to wake people up, remember to remind them about all the things they can't forget.  Lunches, forms, homework, sports bags, medicine, etc.  So,  most Saturday mornings will find me sleeping in to the late hour of, you know, 8 or something equally scandalous, like possibly 8:15.  Jason decided to wake me up this particular morning with a sweet smile and this sweet, happy gift.  When I asked him what that was for, he said, "I wish it was Mother's day again."  Be still me heart.  And then he added, "And I'm pretty hungry."  :)

You know how they say, 'When everyone is watching a kid...no one is."  That proved to be the case the other day.  Suddenly I realized that both boys were missing.  I don't think it was more than a couple of minutes, but I couldn't be positive.  I searched the pool (always first!)  I searched the house.  Twice.  The backyard.  The front yard.  And there thy were.  Both boys in the car.  The key was in the ignition.  The hazard lights were on.  The music was blaring.  Every button that could be pushed was pushed.  The boys were having the time of their lives.  When pressed, Jason said, "I wanted to figure it all out."  As an extra, he added, "Also, I wanted to take Emmett for a little ride."  Oh, that's better.  Just a little ride by a rogue 5 year old.  After I brought them in, Jason pressed his luck and asked if he couldn't take Emmett for a little ride like he promised.  I wasn't fazed.  Not even when he added a sickly sweet, "super please?"

That's all folks.

Happy 4th of July!

What is my favorite thing about moving to Georgia?  How about a small town 4th of July celebration?  Okay.  Nothing has ever compared to the Ridgefield 4th celebration in WA, but still, this one has plenty of small-town flavor.  We hung out at the park a good 5 minutes from our house, ate from food trucks and slid down inflatables.  They had a fun band playing and I'm pretty sure it wasn't just Sugar Hillians (that works.) in the mix.  When dusk came, they had a nice big firework show, and the weather behaved perfectly by blowing all the smoke out behind us.  So considerate.  The only strange thing was that the big celebration was on the 3rd...not the 4th.  I guess everyone wanted to do their own fireworks on the 4th?  I don't really get that.

Our crew.

Emmett hardly made it through 5 minutes of the show.  I'll never know how I have children who can sleep through fireworks!

The celebration continued on the 4th.  We had a great BBQ put on by Rob.

Robert was extra pleased with the no-restriction rule for home fireworks.  He started us out with about a million sparklers...

Goof.

Hermione Granger.

Ethan was laughing at this picture because he didn't realize that he was posing with a burnt out sparkler until the last second.

So, Austin shared on of his.  Nice brother.

Then came the real show.  I wasn't able to really catch show as much as I was able to catch the showman.  Just look at that smile.

I'm pretty sure this isn't safe...

No injuries *sigh* and the show went on.

During our fireworks show, we had background music put on by the local wildlife.  The loudest noise seemed to be right under the tree we were by.  My first instinct was to move away from the tree and Robert's first instinct was to find and capture the critter making the noise.

Look at the size of this...cricket?  Locus?  Vampire, blood-sucking insect of death?  All I know is...I wasn't going to touch it.  Jason, however, was completely fascinated.  His daddy is the coolest daddy on the block.

June 18th 2017

We all managed to get back together again in order to celebrate THIS guy!  We made a lot of promises to the kids to help them accept our big move to Georgia.  A trampoline.  A treehouse.  A dog.  Yeah, we really pulled out all the stops for this one.  The funniest part of all this, has been watching Robert get so excited to get all of those things himself.  He's just as much of a kid as those sweet things standing around him.  He wants to plant fruit trees.  He's cutting down monster trees to clear the way for a tree house (and to allow those new fruit trees a few more hours of sun.  He's just so excited to do it all.   If we could only keep him in town long enough for him to get it done!

Robert is the adventurous Dad.  The Fun Dad.  The camping Dad.  The break the rules Dad.  He'll stay up too late, eat all the ice-cream and play the Wii.  Basically, he's the kind of Dad that every kid wants to have.  Because of that, these kids adore him.  They miss him when he's gone and are always doing everything they can to get his attention when he's here.

Not only that, but Robert loves being a Dad.  You can see it in his face when he walks in the door and sees those little boys running to jump into his arms.  You can see it when he is camping with the boys on hikes that are way too steep for his old-man's knees...just so he can be with the big boys.  You can see it when he teases Alaina and tickles her every time she tries to give him a goodnight kiss.  He loves being these kids' Dad.

We love you Robert!  Thanks for being the guy I knew you'd be when I started dating you.  I love the Father and Husband you are.

U love I,

Happy Father's Day,  Good-Job-Rob!
